Is this mod project abandoned because the download says it's the alpha version, but the release date of the official release was set for December of last year.
Just wondering if I should download now or wait for the full experience to get released.

This mod is not abandoned. I work on this mod every single day of my life. I have been away for the past week, I had a family emergency that I had to tend to. I will be releasing an update any day now; it was originally set to be released last week.
The new update takes Fallout Anthology Edition from the alpha stage and puts it into the beta stage.

Another quick question: How would I go about replacing textures and meshes using New Vegas retexture mods (If possible)?

Thankfully, you can take an entire exisiting texture replacer that was made for Fallout New Vegas and simply create a folder called "new_vegas" inside the "Textures" folder so that everything reads as "Textures\new_vegas", then you can drag the folders into your Fallout 4 "data" folder and run the game as usual.

I'm now wondering if the mod won't work for me since I'm using the game version right before the NG update. Was this mod project designed around the NG update or should it work with the preupdate game version too?

I have been told by various people that the mod does in fact work with versions prior to the official next gen update released last year. I do believe that going forward into the beta that it's possible that I will have to make two different versions: one for pre-update users, and one for post-update users.

Being able to replace textures is actually great since we can simply use mods from New Vegas to make a truly next gen visual experience while still keeping all the quests available.
Big Props to You for That!
I'm still struggling quite a bit with the installer. For some reason, after all the installation processes are completed using the .exe installer, I get to the location and none of the new vegas assets seem to appear, and the power armor has no collision, so I end up being able to walk straight through it. It's the same thing with the weapons that spawn there as well as the vertibird that's meant to be there.
Everything that is New Vegas related is either invisible or simply not there. I made sure to have a fresh New Vegas install and all the DLCs; however, it's not the ultimate edition. It's the standard edition with all the DLCs purchased as a bundle since Steam had a big sale sometime last year I believe for all the Fallout games and their DLCs.
If I have to purchase the ultimate edition, it's not a big deal since it's only $20 right now, but I'm just curious what the technical differences are between the ultimate edition and having all the DLCs with the standard game.

Okay, it sounds like you're possibly missing a Microsft Visual C++ Redist of some kind. What you've said indicates that the installer is NOT actually converting assets as it should despite it telling you otherwise. I've seen these exact symptoms before on a friend's computer when installing.

To eliminate that this is the problem, I highly recommend installing:

Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 Minimum Runtime (32bit)
Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 Minimum Runtime (64bit)
Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2022 Redistributable (32bit)
Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2022 Redistributable (64bit)

I have attached links to download the files. If you find one or multiple installers have not already been installed on your computer, the odds are that you fixed the problem.

If this does in fact fix your issue, I will include the redists in the installer's zip file upon release of the new update to assure nobody has this issue again.
