Updates & Mods
Fallout Anthology Edition is a massive project that aims to bring all titles from the Fallout Collection into one singular epic game using your existing installation of Fallout 4. Currently both Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas are the prioritized titles being developed in Fallout Anthology Edition.
Release Date
Right now Fallout Anthology Edition is in the beta stage of development and the anticipated release date for the completed project is currently December 24th, 2024. In the meantime players can use the early access release of Fallout Anthology Edition which was released on May 17th, 2024.
Get Early Access
While Fallout Anthology Edition is still several months away from its official release, you can get your hands on the latest version of the early access release here! New updates are released every other week which you can also learn about here.
Expectations
Please remember that this is an EARLY ACCESS release of Fallout Anthology Edition. If you want Fallout New Vegas in Fallout 4 for the purpose of a complete game playthrough, I recommend waiting at least until the beta release. This early access release is intended to gather suggestions, a list of bugs and errors, and to provide quality improving updates as often as possible. Players can expect to see updates at least once a week until the project moves from the early access phase to the beta phase.
Settlements
You can build as many settlements as you would like- rest assured that future updates will not affect any settlements that you build in the Mojave Wasteland. Any objects that you pick up that are not working currently will be fixed in later updates. Any saved game progress that you make during the early access release will be compatible with the official release in the coming months.

Modding
Additionally, modders can rest assured knowing that any mods that they make using Fallout Anthology Edition will not be affected by future updates and will continue to work through the development of the project. Time to start modding!
Copyright
First and foremost, in order to use this mod, which going forward will be referred to as a project, you must own a legal copy of Fallout New Vegas as well as all official Fallout New Vegas DLCs. This project DOES NOT redistribute any original Fallout New Vegas assets in any kind of way and instead utilizes files from your legally purchased copy of Fallout New Vegas via local installation wherein the files are extracted, processed, and prepared for use for Fallout 4. The project has been designed in such a way that it cannot be used in any way, shape, or form to illegally obtain assets from Fallout New Vegas or from any applicable official Fallout New Vegas DLC(s).
Meticulous workarounds and seemingly impossible strategies have been achieved in order to make the project possible and also to respect the rightful owners of both Fallout New Vegas and Fallout 4. This project is intended for educational purposes and personal use and it is illegal to redistribute any of the processed assets created, modified, or otherwise altered from the project's installation.
Dear Vault Dwellers, you have all been so patient and it is almost here! Fallout Anthology Edition's newest major update releases on December 31st.
In the meantime, there will be several major updates starting with the next big one on December 6th of this month. This update completely reengineers the installation of Fallout Anthology Edition, addresses most errors reported by the community, and rebuilds a beautiful new high resolution LOD for the Mojave Wasteland.
Dear Vault Dwellers, the newest and most massive update yet for FalloutAE (Fallout Anthology Edition) is in the final stages of completion. I am hoping to have the release available for public download by the end of this month.
Check my previous post for details about this update. I have spent the last month fixing major bugs and glitches as well as adding new content to Fallout Anthology Edition. I am certain that anybody who already enjoys this project will enjoy it immensely more.
Dear Vault Dwellers, a MASSIVE update for FalloutAE (Fallout Anthology Edition) is
nearing completion. This update adds the Capital Wasteland + All DLC, optimizes all
F3 / FNV materials for better performance, and recreates the Worldspace LOD for the
the Mojave Wasteland, Capital Wasteland, and all associated DLC's. Additionally, this
update touches up many of the DLC's making them able to be travelled to an from
without the use of the Developer Console. Lastly, players can expect less crashes and
infinite load screens, as well as a major rehaul of the entire graphics.
A new update for FalloutAE (Fallout Anthology Edition) has been released today! This update fixes several issues with the installer that prevented users from successfully installing Fallout Anthology Edition using the FalloutAE V0.0.98 installer. Visit the downloads page for the latest updates.
FalloutAE (Fallout Anthology Edition) Early Access release is now available for download here. This is the first public release of the project so far; updates are set to release weekly.
Fallout Anthology Early Access Release becomes available to the public for download on May 10th, 2024 as promised, exactly 7 days after the original release date which was delayed due to the massive official game update from Bethesda Softworks. Non-vanilla creatures and weapons are the only assets that will currently not work until FO4SE releases an update.
Just as promised, Fallout Anthology Edition's early access release will be available to the public to download of Friday of this week, specifically May 10th, 2024. As you all know, Bethesda Softworks has an official update last month which broke most mods relying on F4SE. Fortunately, the damage to Fallout Anthology Edition is very minimal because I try as absolutely hard as possible to avoid relying on F4SE but there are just some things that can't be done without it.
As you all know, Bethesda Softworks released their massive next-generation update for Fallout 4 on April 25th, 2024 which essentially broke any mods relying on the Fallout 4 Script Extender. Basically, they changed things so massively with the engine that the team from F4SE literally has to somehow either create a patch to fix all existing mods, or recreate F4SE all together.
Fallout Anthology Edition will be released nearly six months earlier than expected; FAE is set to release to the public on April 30th, 2024 as an "Early Access" alpha release. Let's go over exactly what that means.
Hey everybody! Figured I'd share with you all some of my screenshots from the development of Fallout Anthology Edition. For clarification purposes, these photos are old and not from the Early Access release of Fallout Anthology Edition. The Early Access release is stable and includes the entire game without missing meshes, textures, etc.
I won't go too much into the technical process of porting the GECK (F3/FNV) to the Creation Kit (F4) yet, but for those of you who know about this project- I started FAE back in early 2022 with the little spare time I had in between my actual job. I had worked on the project for several months and ultimately came to the conclusion that the project was unrealistic for one person and the timeline would exceed the amount of time before Bethesda Softworks launched another Fallout title and rendering my project obsolete.
With the Semi-Automatic Porting Method, my computer is doing the work for me non-stop, with only the occasional input needed from myself as a human to continue the process. This means that the computer is able to continue working on the project potentially 24 hours a day as if myself was right there working on it, regardless of where I am. Furthermore, the semi-automatic porting method is about 35% faster than myself manually completing the task manually.
Installing and updating Fallout Anthology Edition has been made simple and easy with the project's new automated installer.
Prerequisites:
You must have a clean install of Fallout New Vegas on your computer along with all DLC's for the game. For the best experience with installation it is recommended that you use Fallout New Vegas Ultimate Edition which you can buy on Steam using the link below if you don't already own it.
https://store.steampowered.com/sub/13435/
Additionally, you must have an install of Fallout 4 on your computer along with all DLC's for the game. For the best experience with installation it is recommended that you use a clean installation of Fallout 4, however mods are totally compatible but not recommended to add until after Fallout Anthology Edition has successfully installed.
If you are using a fresh installation of Fallout 4 on your computer, you must run Fallout 4 at least once so that all necessary files are generated. Failure to do so will result in the failure of the installer.
https://store.steampowered.com/sub/199943/
The final prerequisite is that you must have an install of Fallout 4 Creation Kit on your computer. If you purchased Fallout 4 on Steam, this software is FREE to download. You can view the software on Steam using the link below if you don't already have it.
Simply download the latest version of Fallout Anthology Edition from here, extract the zip file, and place the entire folder called "FalloutAE" into your Fallout 4 main directory. Please note that the main directory is NOT the same as the "Data" folder.
Once you've placed the "FalloutAE" folder into the Fallout 4 main directory, open the folder and run the file called "Setup.exe" found inside. If it is at all possible, avoid running the setup as an Administrator as it has been known to cause issues with the way that the installer operates.
After you've run the "Setup.exe" file found in the "FalloutAE" folder, you will be presented with a console screen that will show you the current progress of the installation. It is extremely important that you do not exit this task at any time throughout the installer.
Almost immediately after the console screen loads, you will be presented with another screen that allows you to edit the settings for converting Fallout 3 / Fallout New Vegas assets for use with Fallout 4. Without changing ANY settings, simply press "Start".
From this point on, the installer will continue to run for anywhere from several minutes to several hours. The processing time involved in this particular step of the installation greatly depends on the CPU, HDD, GPU, and RAM processing power of your system.
You will see several tasks operating with various windows opening and closing automatically. These programs are converting Fallout New Vegas assets found on your computer for use with Fallout 4. It is extremely important that you do not exit any of the tasks at any time throughout the conversion process.
After the various tasks have finished converting assets, you will be presented with a message that says "Moved FalloutNV.esm to output path". Simply press "Next".
After pressing "Next" on the previous step, you will now be presented with a message that says "Conversion Complete." Simple press "Close".
Check back on the console screen that you left running and it should be running several tasks and your installer progress should be going up. If the console screen gets stuck at any time during this step DO NOT panic and please be patient as it is applying patches, building archives, and installing the mod to your game folder in the background.
After all processes from the console screen have completed, you should be presented with a message that shows the installer has completed successfully. Press any key to continue.
Now you need to open your Fallout 4 Mod Manager and enable the following plug-ins "FalloutNV.esm" and "FalloutNV_Update.esp" before launching the game in order to "Enable" the mod. In the demonstration below I am using the Vortex Mod Manager, however using any working mod manager for Fallout 4 will achieve identical results.
Congrats! You've successfully installed Fallout Anthology Edition and you're ready to explore the Mojave Wasteland. Simply load Fallout 4 using your mod manager and create a new game or load one of your existing saved games and you should be prompted with a message that Fallout Anthology Edition was installed successfully.
On your Pip-Boy, whether you're starting a new game or loading an existing saved game, there is an undiscovered map marker location called "Courier's Bunker" to the top left of Sanctuary. You will need to travel to this location in order to discover the map marker before you can fast travel between the Mojave Wasteland and the Commonwealth.
Once you have discovered the location, you'll come across an old Enclave style vertibird that is seemingly functional, although not in the best of shape. As you search the location it appears as if the place were ransacked or someone made a desperate attempt to flee while looking for something valuable. You will need to search the location for a key to unlock the vertibird as well as a map or holodisk of some kind that might reveal what happened here and why.

Thank you so much for making this mod! I cant even believe Im walking around in FNV my friends all think Im full of sheeet. Please let me send you a donation or buy you a steam game :)
Had to come see this with my own eyes. Wow. Just wow. Where the heck did this come from and why am I only hearing of this now? Confirmed working. Downloaded, installed, and building my settlement in Goodsprings as we speak :) PS: for some reason my antivirus showed false positives on the .EXE files from the installer.
I have literally been waiting for this since the day F4 was released... This is amazing work dude. If you are in need of a tester please let me know because I would love to be a part of the project. This is crazy!!!!!
Thank you for the support everybody. I am so happy to see positive feedback in the short amount of time that the download has been available- it makes it worth the enormous amounts of time put into this project.
I understand that there has been some issues with antimalware generating false positive results indicating that the software contains malware; rest assured that this is simply due to the fact that antimalware is providing blanket protection where it cannot read the contents of the files, specifically the .EXE files.
I am working as quickly as I can to convert the files from .EXE format to .BAT format which will eliminate the false positive results generated from antimalware services as it will allow the contents of the files to be read properly by any and all antimalware software. I appreciate your patience!
You guys are amazing. Thank you for the tremendous support that you have provided.
I appreciate your enthusiasm, I just do this stuff for the smiles :) Please feel free to let me know if you have any suggestions or ideas for the project.
Confirmed working. I have been playing this mod for a solid 5+ hours without a single crash. I am desperately moving all of my settlers from the commonwealth to the mojave wasteland.
Only issues I have encountered so far are that the cazadors will not attack me for some reason and sometimes the centaurs fight each other. TBH I could care less Im happy just to be in the mojave again!
Hey friend, I have successfully identified the issue that you are experiencing and I am happy to say that it will be fully resolved in the next update that I release :)
Hi there, just wanted to let you know that this is so cool and I thank you for the effort you put into making this possible for everybody. A friend showed me this and told me to download it fast before it gets shut down by Bethesda Softworks.
I do not believe that will be the case with this project. The creator of this mod also coincidentally created a mod called F3FNV over ten years ago which ported Fallout 3 to Fallout New Vegas. There is also some other project called TTW which is still running strong.
Let me address some controversies with these kinds of mods, specifically the guys working on the Capital Wasteland mod. First of all, those guys were not developing their project like Fallout Anthology Edition. They were literally going to include all of the original files from Fallout 3 in their project as part of the download which means people that never even bought the game would be able to 1) play the game without owning a legal copy, 2) never play / purchase the original game, also stunting consistent revenue, and 3) redistribute files that are not legal to redistribute. Everything about their method was highly illegal or borderline gray area. Also mind you that those guys literally contacted the legal team for Bethesda Softworks and were told no rather than just uploading the dang thing. If they had just uploaded it instead it would have spread like a wildfire and would have been impossible for any one company to stop it.
Fallout Anthology Edition does not redistribute any original assets from Fallout New Vegas. Many of the files that are included with the installer can easily be downloaded from already existing mods on the Nexus so it would be pretty dang hard for Bethesda Softworks to try and come down on the creator of this mod without also bringing down the hammer on long time Nexus modders and even Nexus itself. Any judge would look at that as a form of gamesmanship; why attack the little guy that DOES NOT make profit when there is literally a multi-million dollar company that DOES make profits from aforementioned redistribution of files?
Worse thing I see happening is that Bethesda Softworks hires the creator under NDA since nobody knows who he / she is anyways and then the mod disappears. Best thing I see happening is that Bethesda Softworks gives the blessing to the creator and adds the project as an official DLC.
I do not see Bethesda Softworks going after this mod because it is factually promoting the purchasing of a nearly 15 year old game and you literally cannot use this mod without owning the game. Bethesda Softworks, Obsidian Entertainment, and presumably Microsoft Studios are essentially generating free revenue nearly 15 years later at zero additional business cost AND there is no liability due to the highly sophisticated way that the mod was designed. Fucking props FalloutUG. You are an amazing modder and Bethesda Softworks would be lucky to have you as an asset to their company.
Hey im having an issue with the installer... Ive tried it three times now and it gets stuck on something with the textures archive. is anyone else having this issue? I really wanna play this mod rn
Hey everybody, I am so extremely happy to see the activity that is finally starting to begin on the website because of the release of this mod. It is my sincere hopes that the community will continue to thrive.
With that being said, I have been constantly checking the comments for feedback and issues with the installer and have been working nonstop to immediately resolve said issues. I have identified an issue that is causing some people to get stuck at the process "Building archive "FalloutNV - Textures.ba2"...". If you are stuck at this process, rest assured that it will be resolved immediately and I will have a patch update released tonight before midnight PST.
Can you please add some reference images to the installation guide? I think that I am installing the mod incorrectly maybe. I put falloutae folder in my fallout 4 data folder but for some reason the installer fails immediately. thanks for the help
Thank you for adding the update bro! I finally got it installed. Do all of the old console codes work the same? I typed COC Goodsprings like in FNV and it worked?! Do you have any plans to make a full list of console codes?
Thanks for the comments everybody. I have added an installation guide for the mod in the "Guide" section of this page. Click there and you will see a very detailed and thorough guide that will help you from start to finish. Please remain patient while I work on getting the images to display properly in the guide. More updates coming in the next few days!
Hopefully. I need to see how much interest there is in this mod before I commit anymore time to secondary features such as console compatibility. With that being said, if I were to make the mod Xbox and Playstation compatible, the process would likely still require that the user own a computer as I would ideally just add an additional feature to the installer that would build a console compatible disk image so that the user could transfer the files to their console via flash drive.
thank you for making this mod me and my girl have been playing this nonstop all day. my favorite game is fnv and hers is f4. do you have an eta when quests will work yet?
Hey everybody, I apologize for the issue that was happening where the like / dislike functions were getting stuck on a blank page. The issue with the like / dislike functions is fixed now. Additionally, I fixed the issue where certain comments weren't posting due to apostrophes so much progress is being made.
Also, just so you all know, I have set up the posts and comments to use BBCode so feel free to use it in your posts and or comments. Thanks for the support everybody :)
I just found your website from Youtube. Originally I thought your settlement videos were some kind of click bait but jeeeez you weren't joking! How the fuck does this only have 140 downloads or is the dl counter off?
Believe it or not the download counter IS correct! I know, I know- doesn't make a whole lot of sense given the monstrous size of the project and the demand for Fallout New Vegas to be ported to Fallout 4, but also consider that I'm not hosting this on the Nexus which is where the majority of Fallout mods are hosted.
I truly hope that with the recent videos that I added that the project will begin to pick up popularity or that some credible YouTube gamers will do a review of the project and link back to here. The majority of recent users from the past few days have originated from YouTube.
Been lurking here for like a while. I have been playing this mod with literally every spare moment that I have and I am seriously amazed by what you have achieved in such a little amount of time. Not to mention the site. I watched it go from barely usable to just straight up badass in like three days lol.
I would really like to get involved with character facial reconstruction if that's at all possible. I've also been modding since the FNV days so I promise I know what I'm doing and you won't have to micro manage me ahaha
Hey there friend. If you are not seeing the files in in Vortex after running the installer, there's a couple of things that could have happened. Sometimes Vortex has permission to read / write without asking you and I have seen a couple cases where Vortex has deleted the files all together.
If you open the "Data" and "Output" folders in the main "FalloutAE" folder, you should not see any files or folders. If you do see files and or folders that means that the installer failed somewhere. If you do no see files and or folders that means that the installer was successful but Vortex decided to delete the files for some reason.
Would you mind letting me know what version of Fallout 4 and Fallout 4 Creation Kit that you currently have installed? I had a couple people mention they were downgrading from the new update which you SHOULD NOT do.
I've tried running this like 4 times now, the first time it actually installed the FNV files in my modloader but it crashed before i could get into a save file, now it just fails to make the ESMs at all, tried using a fresh install of NV plus a completely clean version of FO4 after downgrading from the next gen patch, literally just running and making no change whatsoever
Hey friend! This may actually be the problem. You DO NOT need to downgrade. Fallout Anthology Edition works with the latest version of Fallout 4 and the Fallout 4 Creation Kit. I will look into this issue right now and get back to you shortly.
Are you currently running Windows 11? There is a glitch where Windows 11 Anti-Virus programs are showing false-positives on some of the .exe files in the project. This is currently being fixed in an update that will be released in the next couple of days. I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
In the mean time you can manually extract the archive files (.ba2 files) from the "patch" folder and move the extracted files as well as FalloutNV_Update.esp directly to your Fallout 4 "Data" folder, overwriting anything and everything when asked. This should be a temporary fix to your issue.
I genuinely have no idea what improvements this is supposed to provide over bololo11s converter on its own, my current result is exactly the same as if I use that tool by itself, no location in the commonwealth to travel to the mojave, using commands brings me there but there's no difference between this and when I've used the converter standalone in the past
The converter you're talking about only ports basic meshes and objects. Not map markers, characters, creatures, music, weapons, armor, settlements, navmesh, or quests so to be completely honest I'm not sure what version that you tried where it had any of those types of things in it. This is a project that has been in development for a few years and will ultimately be a full remaster of Fallout New Vegas.
Every single location is available to fast travel on the map as you originally could in Fallout New Vegas. Additionally, new high-resolution LOD has also been generated for the worldspaces. There's also enemies to fight!
Let's start off by figuring out what version of Windows you are running, what version of Fallout 4 you have, and if you have Fallout 4's Creation Kit installed. I am currently working on an update fixes issues that some Windows 11 users have been having with the installer. While I look into your issue further, please do me a favor and check the installation guide that I added to make sure that you followed all of the steps correctly. Thank you!
without a converter of some kind this mod would be illegal. the mod maker was originally doing the entire project by hand via use of macros going back and fourth between GECK and CK I was following this project back in 2022 when everything was purple and no textures. that's also why this mod has so many things that the standalone converter doesnt. if you're saying theres no difference between the two you definitely didn't install this mod or at least not correctly
Hey friend! This issue is likely caused by your anti virus detecting a false-positive. Go to your anti virus software (usually Microsoft Defender) and check "History". If you see those files in there, it's likely that it was detected as a false positive and failed. You can usually click the file names and make an exception so that it doesn't keep deleting over and over. This is a known bug that is will be fixed in the next update.
Please feel free to let me know if this solves your problem, and again the next update should fix this issue for everybody permanently. I apologize for the inconvenience!
Yep it fixed it than you so much.
BTW a few bugs I noticed :
- Big M.T is flooded with water.
- Using any armor crashes the game.
- Securitrons don't move or have a screen.
- Some items/guns are purple (Like "This Machine").
- Mojave locations are loading only when I'm near them (I think its called LOD).
That's everything I noticed so far, thank you so much for making this mod I cant wait to play quests in it.
That is awesome to hear! Thank you so much for taking the time to let me know how everything went and I sincerely appreciate all of the feedback.
As far as glitches, I am working on the next update as we speak which will be a HUGE improvement for anybody currently using the mod. Almost all of the armors and weapons will be complete and working as well as any glitches with NPC animations and movement. And no need to worry, all of your progress will be safe in the update :)
Thank you so much for making this! I've been playing this for like two months now I kept meaning to stop by and leave a comment. I really can't wait for the next update. Hope all is well :)
Hey friends, I apologize for the inconvenience, there was a couple days where the link was not working for Fallout Anthology Edition. I've been doing some major work to the platform and this was caused my internal website changes.
The link is now properly working again so feel free to download!
Thank you for all the hard work you have been doing I'm excited for the next version to be released, by any chance do you have a new estimate on when it will be released?
Yes! It's looking like the end of December is going to be the official release of the beta which will include the majority of quests, vendors, and companions. I have been working on this project every day of the week and I can't wait to see what you guys think!
I really love this mod- it's a very clean port of the original Fallout New Vegas without any "I think this would be cool" added nonsense content that I've seen in a lot of recent port attempts.
If you want the clean version of Fallout New Vegas with everything exactly the same way as you played it back in 2010, this is the FNV port that you want. Everything is original and the author did not add thing that he thought would be cool that end up changing the entire gameplay or story. With that being said, the author DID add the following: Settlements and Weapon Mods which if you ask me are badass because they are original locations that you and I both know we've thought "I wish I could have a town here" and now you can. As far as weapons, all of the weapons are the ORIGINAL weapons but now you can customize them with vanilla assets through Fallout 4's weapon workbench.
As far as stability, I RARELY have crashes and it's usually when I'm in No Collision mode flying through the air (cheating) or when I put my player scale to 10 and run through a bunch of grids really fast.
Overall for a port, this is amazing. I love everything that I've seen so far and I would absolutely be honored to be a part of the development of this project if there is any necessary for additional modders.
Sorry for the empty comment above,it refuses to be deleted
Anyway! I have a question regarding this mod, will this work on the version before the NextGen update (1.10.163)? Cause I have a race mod that only works with the version before the NextGen update came out (and "broke everything")
Fallout Anthology Edition should absolutely work with pre-update versions of Fallout 4. With that being said, it is very possible that the official beta release will not work with the same version for technical reasons relating to NPC's, Dialogue, and Quests.
So the early access version should by all means and purposes, work with the pre-update versions of Fallout 4 if I'm understanding that right?
Also, will the mod's outfits and apparel work with body mods such as CBBE and such? Or are they only compatible with vanilla bodies? (It's another race mod related requirement that it needed, hence why I'm asking, sorry if it's semi-annoying)
Also forgot to ask and since I can't edit my comment above for some reason, does the mod also include the New Vegas radio stations and all the various New Vegas ambiance and combat music whenever you're in the Mojave?
The radio stations as well as ambient and combat music will be added in the late December update. Additionally, the LOD has been completely redone and adds a new level of immersion to the Mojave Wasteland. I am currently working on porting armors from Fallout New Vegas to Fallout 4 right now, so I am hoping that most of these will be complete in the next update.
Amazing concept, however, I cannot get it to work properly at all. Patch.exe and File2Unpack missing from FalloutAE folder. It is a real bummer as I was testing this for the reddit community and wasted almost 10 hours downloading, converting, having it fail on the same thing every time. Maybe once there is an update to this, I will give it another go.
Ok so I got it to work right, but for some odd reason everything is purple. Idk if I did something wrong, but it genuinely bums me out. I would love to hear back on a possibly remedy.
Fallout Anthology Edition is a massive project that aims to bring all titles from the Fallout Collection into one singular epic game using your existing installation of Fallout 4.
